Fun Fact: Early Truckers Used to Navigate Via Telephone Poles

Before highways, truckers followed painted telephone poles to navigate freight routes. Today, Pinch Transport powers logistics with technology, data, and expertise.

Did you know that before interstate highways, early truckers navigated using telephone poles? Utility companies painted colored bands on the poles to mark unofficial freight routes across rural America. This was decades before GPS and even before many roads were paved. Truckers relied on grit, hand-drawn maps, and word-of-mouth to move freight across states. It wasn’t efficient, but it marked the beginning of a new era in freight.

Pinch Transport honors that same spirit of problem-solving. Now, our routes are powered by data, tech, and less telephone poles.
